Dock Float Dimensions and Bolt-Holes Patterns

Posted by HarborWare on 25th Aug 2016

At HarborWare the most common questions we get about our dock floats are: 1. how many bolt holes are in each float drum, 2. how big are the holes and 3. where are the bolt holes located?

1. The amount of bolt holes vary on each dock float, see diagram below for your specific size. We recommend using at least 4 - 6 of the bolt holes to securely fasten the dock float to your boat dock.

2. The bolt hole is actually a notch that's 1/2" wide, 1-1/2" thick and 1-1/2" deep. This means you can use bolts up to 1/2" (3/8" bolts are most common). We recommend using 2-1/2" to 3" long bolts since the notch itself is 1-1/2" thick. Our mounting flanges have a 1-1/2" deep notch to give you plenty of wiggle room to line up with your boat dock frame attachment points.

3. See diagram below to find where bolt holes are located on your dock float drum size.
